Handlung
Hercule Poirot schließt sich einer bunt gemischten Reisegruppe an, die auf einem Dampfer den Nil bereist. Auf der Fahrt kommt es zum Mord an der schönen und reichen Linnet Doyle, doch die Hauptverdächtige – Jacqueline de Bellefort, der Linnet ihren Verlobten Simon Doyle weggeschnappt hat – hat zum Tatzeitpunkt ein Alibi. Poirot nimmt die Ermittlungen auf und muss unter den zahlreichen anderen Verdächtigen, darunter Linnets Dienstmädchen Louise Bourget, ihr Treuhänder Andrew Katchadourian und die berühmte Marie Van Schuyler, den Tätern finden …
